The design vision for the Vulcan AI office draws inspiration from the firm’s engineering focus, aiming for a modern yet industrial aesthetic. Utilizing raw materials like wood and concrete, the Vulcan office is divided into client-facing and general work areas. Glass writing boards encourage collaboration in the latter, while the pantry doubles as a client meeting spot and casual workspace. Strategically positioned windows overlook the outdoor garden, offering a serene backdrop for bar-height workstations. This layout fosters a collaborative atmosphere while providing opportunities for relaxation and productivity amidst the industrial-inspired design.
An issue identified in the Vulcan office design relates to the high exposed ceilings, which could cause echoes throughout the workspace. To address this, soft furnishings such as carpet and wallpaper were incorporated to help reduce echo levels. Additionally, enclosed office rooms, including director rooms and phone booths, were fitted with lower ceilings instead of wide-open ones, ensuring both functionality and comfort throughout the Vulcan AI office.
